A wildfire that broke out in Rondevlei near Knysna was contained early on Tuesday morning.

Andile Lungisa is the only member that was contesting on the Babalo Madikizela slate that has made it on to the new ANC Eastern Cape executive committee.  The list was read out by ANC National Spokesperson  Pule Mabe during a media briefing on Tuesday morning.  Lungisa is ranked at number 30 on the list and is the last member to make the list.

A George police captain appeared briefly in the Thembalethu Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday morning for allegedly tampering with evidence in connection with  a business robbery on January 31. Mzoli Crosby Mtabati, 53, has been out on bail of R1,000 since his arrest on Friday. He is facing charges of defeating the ends of justice.
