Daimler Truck Southern Africa is celebrating a hat trick, winning Top Employers Automotive Industry Leader award for three consecutive years.
Not only has the East London-based DTSA remained the automotive industry's leader for three years but it has moved up from fifth to third place in the Top 20 ranking of companies in SA.
Announcing the award, Top Employers Institute head in Africa Nathier Jappie congratulated the "phenomenal team”, saying: “We are delighted to once again welcome Daimler Truck Southern Africa as the Automotive Industry leader for 2025.
Both achievements were accolades worth bold recognition and celebration, he added.
Tebogo Shumba, group chief human resources at DTSA said it was an honour to receive the latest feather in their cap.
The Top Employers certification means global recognition, as well as credibility and trust, enhanced employee experience, and the ability to attract top talent, he added.
Since the invention of the truck over 125 years ago, Daimler Truck AG has been a pioneer in the commercial vehicle sector and is today one of the world’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturers.
Established in South Africa over 60 years ago, the DTSA group bases its success on leading brands like Mercedes-Benz Trucks, Mercedes-Benz Buses, and FUSO Trucks.
It offers parts and services for Freightliner and Western Star Trucks.
Since 2022 DTSA has been an independent but wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, the world’s biggest truck and bus manufacturer.
Daimler Truck AG was spun off from the Mercedes- Benz Group on 1 December 2021.
