Two men accused of murdering East London farmer Shaun Brett Krull at his farm in 2019 were sentenced to life imprisonment by the East London high court on Thursday.
Vizicelo Wokisi, 27, and Zolani Losi, 26, were sentenced by acting judge Rosaan Kruger.
There were initially three men arrested for the murder of Krull at Mitchell's Bon Farm in East London in September 2019, but Ndingane was sentenced separately to 12 years imprisonment in May after the court found he had cooperated with the authorities during the arrest.
The court how the accused borrowed money and hitchhiked from Qonce to East London in order to rob Krull.
Losi had previously worked for Krull.
The three stabbed Krull three times to death and took his cellphone and wallet with money. They proceeded to his farm's house and unlocked the safe where they took an amount of R10 000 and firearm with ammunition. They drove with Krull's vehicle to Middledrift and thereafter bought alcohol.
Kruger argued that sentences must be proportionate to a crime. He sentenced the two to life imprisonment for the murder, 15 years for robbery with aggravating circumstances, seven years for the possession of illegal firearm and five years for the possession of unlicensed ammunition.
Kruger ordered the sentences to run concurrently.
