Fort Hare research could unlock medical cures from the sea

The cures for diabetes and cancer could be found in the deep waters of the Eastern Cape coastline, if the university of Fort Hare has its way. On Thursday, UFH launched  a joint marine laboratory at its Alice campus, a move it says places it at the forefront of unlocking Eastern Cape’s marine pharmaceutical economy.
