A woman and child were shot in the early morning on Wednesday at Amalinda intersection near CTM. Their lifeless bodies lay on the road, and metres away people gathered in groups, visibly shocked by the incident.
Police and forensic officials covered the scene. Traffic was backed up at the Amalinda main road. Residents say they heard gunshots in the early morning.
A woman who spoke with the Dispatch said: “I only got here after 7am and saw this. We are shocked that this happened so close to where we usually stand while awaiting our daily piece job.”
