East London’s corporate community recently came together for a day of friendly competition and to add to KFC’s Add Hope fourth Annual Golf Day at the East London Golf Club.

More than a round of golf, the Add Hope day was a powerful reminder of the difference a community can make when it unites for a common cause.

With every swing, putt, and cheer, the golfers and community partners contributed to a mission close to KFC’s heart: supporting children who need it most, raising more than R135,000 on the day.

Since the first Add Hope golfing event was hosted in East London in 2021, KFC has raised an additional R373,925 for two of its local Add Hope beneficiaries: Masizakhe Children’s Home and the Greensleeves Children’s Trust.

Through Add Hope, KFC’s commitment to supporting children in need goes beyond providing food; it’s about nurturing potential.

Good nutrition is essential for a child’s growth and development, providing the foundation for learning, play, and social connection.

The proceeds from the golf day, as in previous years, have gone directly to feeding the children.

This has been the role of Add Hope’s trusted beneficiary organisations that are dedicated to ensuring no child goes hungry.

It’s also more than filling food bowls; it’s about helping children reach their full potential as every meal provided is a step towards giving children a fair chance at a brighter future.

While the golf is secondary for seasoned to social players, every golfer played their part.

The winners on the day were:

1st: Digistics

2nd: Melville Properties

3rd: Supreme

4th: Investec

The cash was raised through entry fees and a heavily contested auction.

The articles on auction were all donated. In nearly every case the winning bid was far more than the article would have fetched in a retail store.

While the event typified community spirit, the golfers and supporting companies, through their generous bids, demonstrated their commitment to this cause.
