WATCH | National Police Commemoration Day 2025

Police officers who have died in the line of duty in the past 12 months will be remembered at the National Police Commemoration Day ceremony at the Union Buildings in Pretoria on Sunday.

The Provincial Commissioner of KwaZulu-Natal, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, will convene a meeting with all commanders and commissioned officers within the South African Police Service in KwaZulu-Natal. The meeting will be an accountability session where commanders will report on their performance for the 2024/2025 financial year, reflect on any shortcomings, and discuss how they plan to address them. Police officers who have died in the line of duty in the past 12 months will be remembered at the National Police Commemoration Day ceremony at the Union Buildings in Pretoria on Sunday.

Deputy President Paul Mashatile is expected to join families of the police officers and reservists who lost their lives in the line of duty at the annual commemoration ceremony.
