Ambulance shortage hits patients

Desperately ill patients at the beleaguered Butterworth Hospital are having to rely on friends and family to transport them to referral hospitals in East London because no ambulances are available. The hospital is already in a tragic state. Earlier in 2019, the Dispatch reported on patients having to sleep on cold floors waiting for assistance as a crippling staff shortages took hold.
