Security risk as thieves wreck metro's cameras

Buffalo City's new security camera system is being pillaged by tech thieves. The latest act of organised thievery saw an eye-in-the-sky CCTV camera on a mast being toppled and ransacked in the middle of Ebuhlanti braai area behind Eastern Beach early on Saturday. DA councillor Sue Bentley said this brought the number of cameras and emergency stations which had been pillaged to 37, while 21 other items in the system, such as storage batteries and inverters were ripped off.
