OPINION | Attention now must turn swiftly to economic reconstruction

As the nation contemplates the aftermath of the recent violent protests in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng, ostensibly for the release of former president Jacob Zuma from jail, a comprehensive examination of the causes is in SA’s best interests. Not only have these protests revealed the frailty of the state security apparatus, they also revealed the country’s economic decline.
