East London Police rugby will have to win by all means this weekend to keep themselves in contention to lift the 2025 Border Super League title.

Failure to get maximum points over Breakers at Police Park could put them under immense pressure to defend their title.

Police have 32 points and are six points adrift of log leaders Young Leopards from Ducats.

The Breakers fixture is their game in hand, and after that, Police and Leopards will be on 10 matches apiece heading to the final round.

Though that is the case, they still have a pending protest verdict against Swallows and if the ruling goes in their favour, they could still get five points.

Breakers also have a decision against Swallows outstanding.

Police will be rested going into the Breakers game, after Moonlight failed to honour their league fixture against them last weekend, resulting in the Bobbies getting walkover points.

It has not been a great season on paper for Breakers, who only won twice this season, and they are also smarting from a 50-15 defeat at the hands of Walter Sisulu All Blacks.

A win over Police will no doubt be much celebrated in Komani, but the stats suggest the odds are against them.

Fort Beaufort United will want to finish their debut season on a high note when they travel to the Davidson Stadium in Dikeni and face Fort Hare Blues.

The team from KwaMaqoma, who were promoted this season, have won five of their 10 games. The Blues will be their last fixture.

They will be on tenterhooks heading into the match to see if the Blues play.

Due to internal issues, Fort Hare have missed a game already because of disputes.

In their past two games, they pitched up with their second-string team because of the absence of their first-choice players.

FB United were narrowly beaten 22-21 by Young Leopards last week, while the Blues were blown away 33-3 by Komga United.

The last game of the weekend in Super League will feature WSU All Blacks and Old Boys at the Butterworth Rugby Field.

Both teams are out of contention for the title despite having a game in hand.

In the Premier League, United Brothers will welcome Berlin Tigers at Mzwini Location in Mooiplaas, Lovedale play Black Eagles at Lovedale, and WSU Eagles are against Africans at the Zamakulungisa Field in Mthatha.
